Santa Barbara Studio Artists Invite Collectors to An Insiders Tour of the Fine Art of the American Riviera

The two-day event takes place Saturday and Sunday, August 23rd and 24th, throughout exclusive and historical neighborhoods of Santa Barbara County. The 2014 festivities also include a month-long preview exhibition and a special reception. The Open Studios Tour presents Santa Barbara area visitors and residents, art collectors and enthusiasts with a rare opportunity to meet dozens of acclaimed artists, tour their private studios and experience the workings of a professional artist’s studio.

The two-day self-guided driving tour takes visitors through the region known as the “American Riviera:” Carpinteria, Montecito, Santa Barbara, Goleta and north through Santa Barbara’s wine country to Buellton. Some 36 studios will be open for tour guests. The art is as distinctive and diverse as the award-winning artists themselves, ranging from landscape, contemporary, and figurative painting to sculpture, mosaics and assemblage. Key factors that distinguish Santa Barbara Studio Artists from other Open Studio Tours are that membership is juried and participating artists are top professionals in the visual arts. Many of their works have been showcased on the walls of prestigious galleries, museums and private and corporate collections from New York and Los Angeles to Paris and elsewhere.

Today, regional, national and international collectors, interior designers and gallery owners plan trips to Santa Barbara during the Open Studios Tour weekend to view and purchase premier one-of-a kind art works.

A portion of proceeds from ticket sales for this year’s Open Studios Tour will be donated to the Goleta Valley Cottage Hospital Healing Arts Program. This support will help the hospital purchase artwork from local artists that reflects the beauty and vibrancy of the Central Coast.

Their fries are long crispy golden brown russet potato fries done in the Belgian way and covered with the most delectable toppings and also fully flavorful sweet potato fries. The mission of French Fry Heaven is to serve the best fries on earth, be everywhere people are hungry, leave you with a smile on your face and make a significant positive impact on the world.

As an example, they offer crisp on the outside, fluffy on the inside Baked Tater fries with ranch, soy bacon, cheese and chives? Cajun fries with a New Orleans’ Remoulade sauce? Fries with a garlic and parmesan with Black Truffle sea salt, or maybe the Cowboy Angels (their name for Russet fries) BBQ covered fries with extra smoky sea salt for a fresh off the campfire flavor. There are other brilliant choices equally as good and more being added all the time.

They also have Sweet Potato fries, they call Saints. You can have them with salt or plain or desert style. For instance, Saints Mick, with sweet potato fries rolled in cinnamon and brown sugar, Thanksgiving Saints topped with Marshmallow and pumpkin spice, or Festival Saints, which taste exactly like a funnel cake, but with all the nutrients of a sweet potato fry.

Their fries are made for Colorado in that the menu is 95% vegetarian. They use zero trans-fat fries, fried Belgian style so they don’t absorb oil like those fries you see in a greasy paper bags. They use canola oil which has zero trans fats and most of their sauces are equally healthful, for instance the Garlic/Parmesan which has a base in special zero trans-fat butter. Both kinds of fries are Gluten free! Not perfect, but much better than most expect.

There are very few people on the planet that don’t love fries and can’t appreciate the effort these French Fry Heaven has gone to make them as healthful as possible, well frankly there is nothing that can be done for those people other than try to bring them back to reality. To eat the fries is to love them!

Sheraton Orlando North Hotel Begins Property-Wide Transformation

The Sheraton Orlando North Hotel has embarked on a multi-million dollar transformation of its 390 guestrooms and suites, Club Level Lounge, meeting spaces and grand atrium lobby as the Maitland hotel is enhanced to meet the needs of groups, individual business travelers and vacationing families.

The multi-million dollar renovation is expected to be completed by August 2014 to include the re-design of the property’s five categories of guestrooms and suites, each of which will continue to feature the Sheraton Sweet Sleeper Bed with the addition of new furnishings in all-new re-designed rooms.
