Santa Barbara Studio Artists Invite Collectors to An Insiders Tour of the Fine Art of the American Riviera

Santa Barbara, California (PRWEB) August 06, 2014

Santa Barbara, California has become a choice worldwide destination for fans of weather, wine and weddings – and for the past 13 years, for collectors and connoisseurs of original fine art. The Santa Barbara Studio Artists 13th annual Open Studios Tour offers an insider’s access to the studios of Santa Barbara’s leading professional artists. The two-day event takes place Saturday and Sunday, August 23rd and 24th, throughout exclusive and historical neighborhoods of Santa Barbara County. The 2014 festivities also include a month-long preview exhibition and a special reception. The Open Studios Tour presents Santa Barbara area visitors and residents, art collectors and enthusiasts with a rare opportunity to meet dozens of acclaimed artists, tour their private studios and experience the workings of a professional artist’s studio.

The two-day self-guided driving tour takes visitors through the region known as the “American Riviera:” Carpinteria, Montecito, Santa Barbara, Goleta and north through Santa Barbara’s wine country to Buellton. Some 36 studios will be open for tour guests. The art is as distinctive and diverse as the award-winning artists themselves, ranging from landscape, contemporary, and figurative painting to sculpture, mosaics and assemblage. A complete schedule of events is below and more information is available at

“The Open Studios Tour gives art collectors and enthusiasts a rare chance to experience art outside of a gallery or museum setting,” said Francis Scorzelli, Santa Barbara Studio Artists Board President. “There is nothing like meeting face-to-face with the artists who create these pieces, and our Tour artists are excited to welcome those who seek to appreciate the creative process.”

The Santa Barbara Studio Artists Open Studios Tour has achieved wide-reaching popularity, attracting visitors to the community, and creating the opportunity for art collectors to ‘discover’ and purchase directly from renowned and rising star artists.

Key factors that distinguish Santa Barbara Studio Artists from other Open Studio Tours are that membership is juried and participating artists are top professionals in the visual arts. Many of their works have been showcased on the walls of prestigious galleries, museums and private and corporate collections from New York and Los Angeles to Paris and elsewhere.

Today, regional, national and international collectors, interior designers and gallery owners plan trips to Santa Barbara during the Open Studios Tour weekend to view and purchase premier one-of-a kind art works.

A portion of proceeds from ticket sales for this year’s Open Studios Tour will be donated to the Goleta Valley Cottage Hospital Healing Arts Program. This support will help the hospital purchase artwork from local artists that reflects the beauty and vibrancy of the Central Coast.

In 2013 a Year-Round Visits program was added. Subject to the availability of the artist, a number of artist members are opening their studios, at very short notice, to individuals and groups who may wish for a private visit. For more information, visit

Colorado Native Returns Home with Whacky New Idea

Colorado (PRWEB) July 16, 2014

Scott Nelowet, grew up in Englewood, went through the Cherry Creek system before graduating from Kent Denver. His whole family still lives and works in Colorado. Three years ago he started what has become one of the hottest franchise companies in the country, but until now he didn’t have the correct franchisees to open it up in his home state.

“I have been looking for just the right franchisees to bring back home. They had to have the passion for Colorado and the right amount of creativity to launch my snack brand on the most open minded population in the country. I found the perfect pair in George and Victoria Stone from Colorado Springs. They have an awesome background in retail and the right amount of passion to be the first French Fry Heaven franchisees in Colorado.” The Stones have their grand openings scheduled for July 25 starting at 11am in Breckenridge and August 1st starting at 11am in Colorado Springs. We will have a Grand Opening Tasting scheduled for all guests. Scott will be back home July 23-28 to support them.

French Fry Heaven is the totally unique snack concept opening in Colorado Springs and Breckenridge to start, that serves two kinds of unbelievably delicious French and sweet potato fries. Their fries are long crispy golden brown russet potato fries done in the Belgian way and covered with the most delectable toppings and also fully flavorful sweet potato fries. The mission of French Fry Heaven is to serve the best fries on earth, be everywhere people are hungry, leave you with a smile on your face and make a significant positive impact on the world.

As an example, they offer crisp on the outside, fluffy on the inside Baked Tater fries with ranch, soy bacon, cheese and chives? Cajun fries with a New Orleans’ Remoulade sauce? Fries with a garlic and parmesan with Black Truffle sea salt, or maybe the Cowboy Angels (their name for Russet fries) BBQ covered fries with extra smoky sea salt for a fresh off the campfire flavor. There are other brilliant choices equally as good and more being added all the time.

They also have Sweet Potato fries, they call Saints. You can have them with salt or plain or desert style. For instance, Saints Mick, with sweet potato fries rolled in cinnamon and brown sugar, Thanksgiving Saints topped with Marshmallow and pumpkin spice, or Festival Saints, which taste exactly like a funnel cake, but with all the nutrients of a sweet potato fry.

Their fries are made for Colorado in that the menu is 95% vegetarian. They use zero trans-fat fries, fried Belgian style so they don’t absorb oil like those fries you see in a greasy paper bags. They use canola oil which has zero trans fats and most of their sauces are equally healthful, for instance the Garlic/Parmesan which has a base in special zero trans-fat butter. Both kinds of fries are Gluten free! Not perfect, but much better than most expect.

There are very few people on the planet that don’t love fries and can’t appreciate the effort these French Fry Heaven has gone to make them as healthful as possible, well frankly there is nothing that can be done for those people other than try to bring them back to reality. To eat the fries is to love them!

So the big Grand Openings are July 25 starting at 11am in Breckenridge and August 1st starting at 11am in Colorado Springs and they would love to have the whole state turn out! Scott himself will be in Breckenridge for the grand opening. Scott says they will also be expanding into the rest of the state once they find as good and passionate of franchisees as George and Victoria. Anyone can feel free to reach out to check out if they have any questions.

Country Pup Heads to Big City in Rosemarie Kaupps New Book

WARRINGTON, Penn. (PRWEB) August 20, 2014

The Amberella Tales: Amberella in the City” (published by Trafford Publishing) stars a lovable puppy that will entertain parents and children until the last page.

Amberella is a sweet, farm pup whose life changes when she goes from the farm to the city with a new family. There, she encounters two funny, spoiled French poodle sisters, Zozue and Tutsu, and a grandmother with a secret she keeps safe from the rest of the family. Amberella must befriend the poodles and learn to get along.

Readers will cheer Amberella on as she meets a prince and faces the changes associated with moving from farm life to city life. Though she faces many challenges adapting to city life, Amberella always maintains her integrity.

Kaupp writes with a simple, endearing purpose and includes French words so readers can learn French along with Amberella as she tries to get to know Zozue and Tutsu. Through her book, Kaupp hopes to inspire young girls to be themselves.

“Children, especially girls, face tremendous peer pressure,” she writes. “Amberella maintains her own integrity. She does not do everything Zozue and Tutsu do. Though she certainly changed some, she does not become another Zozue and Tutsu.”
