Narconon Arrowhead Issues New Tips for a Safe & Drug-Free Independence Day

(PRWEB) July 01, 2014

Independence Day, the Fourth of July, is the day when Americans celebrate the birth of our nation. In 1776, the Declaration of Independence was adopted by the Continental Congress, consisting of delegates from each of the 13 colonies. The United States of America was seeking its hard-won independence from Great Britain. For the next 7 years, the Revolutionary War would continue, but Americans and the young nation would ultimately prevail.

Today, we celebrate the victory for independence every 4th of July with fireworks, parades, picnics and a host of other festivities. It is a time we celebrate our country and its freedoms, and it is one of our most cherished traditions.

Celebrating Independence Day

Traditionally, the 4th of July is celebrated by many Americans with an abundance of alcohol consumption. While it may be regarded as socially acceptable, it poses risks and endangers others, nonetheless.

Some may choose to use the Independence Day celebration and its 4-day weekend to indulge in recreational drug use in addition to their alcohol consumption. Although enjoyment of the family picnic or the campout or the day on the lake may appear enhanced by such indulgence or consumption, in truth, it is risky behavior for everyone involved.

Factually, alcohol and drug use gone wrong during the 4th of July holiday can have serious or deadly consequences, and can ruin lives.

Narconon Arrowhead Issues New Tips

Narconon Arrowhead, an Oklahoma-based effective drug treatment facility with decades of experience in rehabilitation and drug prevention is offering the following tips for Americans on some ways they can celebrate and enjoy a safe and drug-free Independence Day.

Plan to attend parties or barbeques with others who want to enjoy the 4th of July without alcohol or drugs.

Host an alcohol and drug-free Fourth of July get-together and barbeque at your own place, letting those you invite know to bring non-alcoholic beverages and no drugs.
Decline invitations to parties or get-togethers where you know there will be drugs and/or over-indulgence in alcohol.

Choose family-friendly activities which can be enjoyed by both children and adults, such as local parades, and Independence Day events at the local church, local school, or local community center.

Attend community sponsored Independence Day events which are a true celebration of the holiday and what it stands for, and which you know will be alcohol and drug-free.

Honor the veterans who have served this nation to safeguard our liberties by volunteering at a VA hospital or VA nursing home, helping them to enjoy the 4th of July, too.

Set a good example for yourself and your loved ones by experiencing and enjoying Independence Day and all its festivities just as it is, without alcohol or drugs.
The Rewards

The rewards of staying safe, and drug and alcohol-free over the 4th of July holiday are many. As a result, your friends, families and loved ones will remain safe, too. Independence Day is meant to be celebrated without devastating and potentially fatal car accidents, alcohol-fused family upsets, emergency room visits caused by drug or alcohol abuse, and the actual potential for drug overdose or alcohol poisoning. Make this 4th of July a truly drug-free celebration of life.

Narconon Arrowhead wishes everyone a safe, drug-free and memorable Independence Day.

Hands On Announces That Long Islanders Suffering From Sciatica Pain Can Now Obtain a Complimentary Evaluation From Licensed Massage Therapists in Commack, NY

Commack, Long Island, NY (PRWEB) December 30, 2012

There is good news for Long Islanders who suffer from Sciatica pain. Hands On HealthCare Massage Therapy, P.C. is now offering complimentary evaluations to help determine if Medical Massage Therapy can help relieve their pain.

Many times this common ailment is caused by trigger points in the buttocks and back. Though there can be multiple reasons for sciatica pain, very often, it is caused by the piriformis muscle. The sciatic nerve innervates the back of the leg, runs under, over, or through the piriformis muscle. Often, tightness or entrapment in the piriformis can cause sciatica pain, which very often causes intense pain in the low back, buttocks, all the way down the back of the leg into the foot. This is commonly referred to as piriformis syndrome and can be a pain in the buttocks! Often people do not stand with their weight evenly distributed between the two legs. Almost everyone tends to stand with the weight shifted to one leg or the other. And that means, piriformis, which outwardly rotates the hip, is working overtime.

Driving, especially long distances, can aggravate this condition. Kaplan-Pelle states, “One of the worst things you can do to a muscle is to leave it in a shortened position for a long period of time. Most people tend to drive with their knees apart, thus keeping the hips outwardly rotated. That’s one reason so many people experience low back or leg pain after long driving. Therefore, frequent stops, even if only to walk once around the car, it often recommended in addition, keeping a wallet out of a back pocket to eliminate undo pressure on the sciatic nerve.” Massage Therapy can often eliminate the pain associated with Piriformis Syndrome. The muscles may need to be re-educated and the associated trigger points addressed.

Soft-tissue pain can mimic the symptoms of many disorders, and can also contribute to pain from other causes. Hands On HealthCare Massage Therapy recommends that people not engage in self-diagnosis. A proper diagnosis is key to fixing the problem. Always obtain qualified medical advice from your medical doctor before undergoing any treatment.

AncestorEbooks Reminds the World of the Beginning of the Jewish 21 Days Called Three Weeks

(PRWEB) June 06, 2013

With the coming of ‘Three Weeks’ AncestorEbooks reminds America and the world of the Jewish event that reminds the next generation of Jews of the difficult road their nation has trod. “There is no more tragic, no period more painful, no suffering more acute than what has befallen the Jewish people, throughout history, during the Three Weeks,” writes Sara Esther Crispe in her article ‘Breaking Walls.’ []

“Beginning on day 17 of the Hebrew month of Tammuz and ending with the ninth day of the month of Av, the Jewish people, as individuals and as a collective whole, mourn and commemorate the many painful attempts at our destruction which occurred in this time,” continues Crispe in an easy to read article that all caring adults should take the time to read.

Historically during the Three Weeks time period, many tragedies have come to pass within in the Jewish culture. These tragedies include the loss of Israel because of a false report of the 12 spies, the destruction of the First Temple and 500 years later the Second Temple was destroyed.

Jewish custom forbids holding weddings, getting hair cuts, bathing for pleasure and participating in pleasurable activities. [] However, Jewish law implies that the future of the Ninth of Av (the last day of the Three Weeks) becomes the most joyous of days.

Dr. Erica Brown, one of the foremost Jewish educators wrote a book called, In the Narrow Places: Inspiration for the Three Weeks.  [] This book goes day by day through the Three Weeks, giving inspirations essays offers a renewal of hope during the reading of prophesies of doom.

Before the Three Weeks time period is Yo HaShoah (April 7), Holocaust Remembrance Day. In Israel, a ceremony is held at Yad Vashem at sundown.  Flags are flown at half mast and six torches are lit by survivors commemorating the six million Jews killed in the Holocaust. The full name of this holiday is “Day of (Remembrance of) the Holocaust and Heroism.” The name emphasizes the suffering and slaughter of Jews during the Holocaust, but also the “active resistance” of Jews who joined the Resistance movement.

Less than a week after the end of the Three Weeks, is the 15th of Av, the greatest festival of the year. [] This is a mysterious holiday without any specified customs with the exception of suspending the study of the Torah.

According to the 2010 census reports, there are 6,543,820 Jews in America, these customs of the Three Weeks applies to all Jews living around the world. AncestorEbook reminds readers that there are a number of Americans with Jewish ancestry that due to intermarriages may not be raised in the Jewish Culture. []

Gayla Mendenhall of AncestorEbooks said, “The Jewish Culture is long on tradition. Members of the Jewish faith continue the same traditions and customs as their ancestors. These traditions should be recorded for future generations, whether they are raised Jewish or in another faith.”

AncestorEbooks is a wonderful way to give a gift of remembrance to future generations. The ebooks can give descendants the strength to continue after reading what their ancestors were able to endure. An ebook can be given at the time of a child’s bar mitzvah or bat mitzvah, or even as a gift on the Day of Remembrance.”

Crystorama Provides Lighting Featuring Swarovski Elements for Henri Bendel Holiday Window Display

(PRWEB) November 25, 2013

High-resolution photography available upon request.

Crystorama, one of the nation’s leading providers of decorative lighting, has teamed up with Swarovski to provide 16 chandeliers for the famed Henri Bendel holiday window display at the Fifth Avenue flagship store. This year’s display, dubbed the “Hirschfeld Spectacular,” honors the late Al Hirschfeld, an American caricaturist best known for his black and white portraits of celebrities and Broadway stars.

In conjunction with the installation, Crystorama and retailer Capitol Lighting/ are hosting a holiday sweepstakes for a Crystorama chandelier featuring Swarovski Elements.

“We couldn’t be more flattered to be asked to be part of this iconic installation, and we’re excited that our fans will get a chance to bring a piece of the Hirschfeld Spectacular into their own home through our sweepstakes with Capitol Lighting,” said Brad Kleinberg, president of Crystorama.

Hirschfeld Spectacular at Henri Bendel

The main window of the Henri Bendel flagship store has been transformed into the formal dining room of a classic New York townhouse in the midst of a holiday party. The celebrated party guests—all Al Hirschfeld’s line drawings translated into three-dimensions—include: Carol Channing, Whoopi Goldberg, Sarah Jessica Parker, Liza Minnelli, Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn, Bernadette Peters, and Woody Allen. At the center of the window hangs a large gold-plated Crystorama chandelier sparkling with Swarovski Elements.

The centerpiece of the atrium is Henri Bendel’s iconic two-story tree, covered in malachite. Atop the tree is Al Hirschfeld’s Charlie Chaplin, also sculpted in three dimensions, looking down at all who enter the store. Fifteen Crystorama chandeliers with Swarovski Elements adorn the tree’s many branches.

“We are often inspired by fashion in designing our lighting collections, so it makes perfect sense to pair beautiful lighting with an upscale women’s specialty store like Henri Bendel,” Kleinberg said.

The display will be up through January 2, 2014 and can be seen at the Henri Bendel flagship store located at 712 5th Ave, New York, N.Y. 10019.

Chandelier Sweepstakes with Capitol Lighting

To celebrate the Henri Bendel window display, Crystorama has partnered with New Jersey-based retailer Capitol Lighting/ for a sweepstakes where one lucky entrant will get to bring the magic of the Hirschfeld Spectacular to their own home, just in time for the holidays.

During Capitol Lighting’s “12 Days of Giving” social media campaign, the grand prize winner will receive a Crystorama chandelier from the Maria Theresa Collection featuring Swarovski Elements. Capitol Lighting will be announcing the contest on its Facebook page on December 12 with a photo featuring the chandelier prize. To enter, fans must “like” both the Crystorama and Capitol Lighting Facebook pages and “share” the announcement photo from Capitol Lighting on their own page and tag both companies; the winner will be announced on December 20.

Buffalo Grove, IL (PRWEB) August 11, 2004

Just ask ABC-TV celebrity personality Star Jones! View a personalized note card featuring her shoe closet…complete with stilettos or her engagement party invitation and thank you note card. You can have the same personalized notecard with your name on it… or create your own design! And, it’s not just about personalized stationery! At you can find a custom product line that is extensively cute and personalized to your taste.

Their products have drawn national attention in features by The Wall Street Journal, NBC-TV’s Today Show and ABC’s “The View”. With over 150,000 visitors a month (and growing!) they have a dedicated customer base which they continue to delight with the best-of-the-best in unique, custom and fun personalized gifts and stationery items. “For some of our customers,” explains Renee Redman, owner of, “our site can be addicting. Once you create personalized items you want to return for more.”

As a niche website offering the “hard-to-find” but “need-to-get items”, has emerged as one of the premier websites dedicated to personalized stationery, note cards, birth announcements, moving cards, personalized poker chips, acrylic and ceramic gifts, Louisville Slugger baseball bats, wedding invitations, gift stickers and custom gifts. Started in 1992, The Stationery Studio was once touted as a local hotspot for creating dynamic custom invitations and announcements. Often, their customers would pick up a personalized gift item while they were there looking for birth announcements, bar/bat mitzvah or wedding invitations. To provide a flexible online catalog for their out of state customers they created a website in 1998. Over the years it has grown into an online powerhouse focusing on unique specialty “knock your socks off” personalized gift items for customers all over the world.

The spectrum of popular-priced items that can be ordered is extensive and there is truly something for everyone. Let’s take bathrooms for example. For many, their powder room isn’t complete without personalized paper guest towels with their name and the phrase “Whad’ya expect…Linen?” Their children’s presents must have the cutest gift stickers on them. A note card needs hand-lettered calligraphy address labels…and many will only use customized “From the Mommy of” note sheets for correspondence to school.

“We can’t get enough cute things to offer,” explains Redman. “We’re constantly adding to our selection and there are many personalized gift ideas for all holidays.” This year, make your friends green with envy… put your favorite pup’s name on a ceramic dog bowl or sew “fashioned with love by” woven labels to handmade personalized gifts… or place a monogram on elegant, but affordable custom stationery wardrobe note cards! This summer, send your favorite little ones off to sleepover camp with their own custom postcards and stationery. Put the grandkid’s center stage on a sweatshirt or ceramic platter imprinted with the phrase “We Love Grandma & Grandpa” and all their names…and don’t forget to order a birthstone bracelet for the little lady in your life.

One of their customer’s favorite areas of the site provides a huge selection of adorable stick figure stationery, announcements, invitations and gift items. “They are completely unique and personal and they allow our customers to express who they are and who they want to be. The customer decides exactly how the personalized stick figure notecards and gifts will look. We have the artwork drawn to the customer’s specifications and they are limited only to their imagination!”

As the largest online dealer of personalized stick figure products in the U.S., they offer varied items with stick figure designs including stationery, notepads, birthday invitations, moving announcements, address labels, clothing, tote bags, gift stickers and post-its. “It’s a golden opportunity to let everyone know how you want to look, your passion, your hobby or your profession. Whether it’s real estate, jogging, being a princess, shopping, reading or basketball, the customer makes the decision,” explains Redman. Just ask Lisa Gubernick, Wall Street Journals Catalog Critic, she commented, …”But for that really special note, we were hoping for something more personalized — and The Stationery Studio had just the thing. Ordering online, we entered our child’s name and then “built” a stick figure to match, choosing general characteristics (boy or girl, long or short hair) and favorite activity (violin, baseball)….. Lily loved that she got to be pictured with “my stuff.” We were entranced as well — and awarded these Best Overall.”

Indeed, is the place to find the hard-to-find gift. It’s a one-stop shop for all ages and all generations. If you love cooking, they offer personalized “Cooked with Love” stickers you can place on your baked goods. If you love reading, there are gorgeous bookplates for all ages. Little indulgences like hand-calligraphied address labels and mommy pads are the reason their customers keep coming back.

“Another reason customers keep returning is because we offer exceptional value and excellent service. We try to provide the same special attention to all of our online orders that we would to any local customer,” says Redman. “These are the kind of items you can’t find at your local department store… or the mall,” she notes, “specialty items like these are unique.”

Most gift items on range from $ 20 to $ 40. “We try to create an extensive selection of affordable items for our customers. This year we introduced online gift certificates in any denomination starting at $ 20 which can be sent via mail or instantly via email. They have been a big hit as they allow the recipient to make all the custom choices about their personalized gift,” she explains.

“We know from 12 years of experience how recipients appreciate the items we offer. In today’s world, it’s important for many people to stay connected to their friends and family and these are the type of items that say that you took the time to order something special.” Redman adds “It’s that personal(ized) touch that makes all the difference.”

Globehunters Announces USA Special Offers

(PRWEB UK) 25 July 2014

Globehunters has announced a variety of USA special offers for autumn 2014. The UK online travel agent will be offering money saving promotions on holidays and flights to a range of US destinations including New York, Orlando and Boston. Other than the fall in prices, there are plenty of other reasons why autumn is a great time to visit the US.

Nowhere does Halloween like the US and there will be lots of macabre celebrations across the country. New York is no exception and October 31st sees the Village Halloween parade wind through the East Village. What sets this apart from the usual New York parades is that the public can participate by joining the procession in their own costumes.

In Orlando, Universal Studios will be running its annual series of Halloween Horror Nights from mid-September until the big night itself. For younger children – and the more easily scared – Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party runs from September 1st and combines trick or treating with light-hearted Halloween parades.

Milder Weather

Autumn is a particularly good time for visiting northern US cities like New York and Boston. Temperatures hover around the 20°C mark during September and October, perfect for exploring these fascinating cities without the humidity – and crowds – of summer and before the mercury plummets in winter.

Florida is mild even in winter and the autumn months lack the humidity and afternoon downpours of the peak summer season. Orlando’s theme parks are emptier than in the summer, which means shorter queues for the most popular rides.

Other Special Events

Oktoberfest may not be the first thing that springs to mind at the mention of the USA but the German beer festival is widely celebrated in the States. New York has numerous beer halls that celebrate the festival and they’ll also be celebrating in Boston, where the Harvard Square Oktoberfest is always a popular option.

In New York, the annual Columbus Day Parade is a lower key alternative to the sometimes overwhelming larger parades in the city. This takes place on October 13th on a US national holiday and features over 35,000 participants every year.
