Simple Parenting Tips That New Parents Tend To Forget 3

Simple Parenting Tips That New Parents Tend To Forget

If you find that you have more questions than answers these days when it comes to your parenting skills, it may be time to find some fresh suggestions to give those skills a tweak. There are many good ideas in the article below that can give you new insight into being the best parent you can be.

While the needs of children often must come first, it’s important as a married parent to make your marriage a priority. There are many benefits for children whose parents have a healthy marriage. They are more likely to attend college, have a better relationship with both of their parents, and are emotionally healthier and more stable.

If your child is a frequent visitor to the nurse’s office at school, he or she could be a victim of bullying. Studies have shown that children who are bullied (and also children who are bullies themselves) make the most trips to the nurse’s office. If this sounds like your child, be sure to ask them about their relationships with their classmates to determine if bullying is the culprit.

Be consistent about naptimes and bedtimes to help your days run smoothly. Kids thrive on routine, and skimping on the amount of sleep they get can impact their health and overall well-being. Check with your pediatrician to see how much sleep each of your children needs, and make it a priority to stick to a regular schedule as much as possible.

Routines are very important in a child’s life. A routine is a not a rigid schedule, but a way of carrying out each day in the same basic structure and pattern. Routines give a child a better sense of security because the child knows what to expect from day to day life. They help children learn to organize their work and to develop and keep important and healthy habits.

An important tip to consider in terms of parenting is to make sure that you take care of your marriage first and children second. This might seem odd but in fact you cannot raise your children well if you are having issues with your spouse. Fix your marriage problems so that you can then focus all attention on your children.

Help your child get organized for school the night before to avoid a stressful mad scramble in the morning. Make sure all papers, homework, library books, lunch money, and other needed items are safely tucked in your child’s backpack before going to bed. Then relax and have a stress free morning send off.

Limit the amount of television that your children watch. The more time they spend in front of the television, the less time they are spending engaging in imaginative play, creative games and other activities that build their social and life skills. They are also more likely to be exposed to violent imagery through the television than when they are doing other activities.

The great suggestions above will give you a terrific start on tweaking your parenting skills and will help you find some great answers to your questions. It is always helpful to look at the challenges of parenting with new eyes so that you can give your best in every situation. Predicts Top Wedding Theme, Decoration, and Color Trends for 2015

Top 5 Wedding Decor Trends for 2015

1) #Hashtag wedding

With social media becoming a bigger part of our lives everyday it’s not hard to guess that the hashtag wedding will be popular in 2015. While some wedding couples will opt for unplugged weddings, others will embrace our new social technology and designate their own hashtag to be used by guests snapping photos and posting on social media about their wedding party experience. Hashtags will be incorporated into wedding décor, written on chalkboards, or as balloons spelling out the wedding day hashtag. Personalized wedding hashtags are a fun way to share photos, especially of the amazing DIY’s that brides put so much effort into, and have the day of the wedding live on in social updates.

2) White Modern Wedding décor

Clean white makes a modern and romantic statement for weddings. White will be a classic wedding color choice for many brides and grooms in 2015. Flowers and décor items in white will include milk glass, calla lilies and hydrangea, ostrich feathers, and jumbo balloons -all in white.

3) Feathers in Wedding Décor

Brides in 2015 will be choosing the lux vintage look and feathers will be a major décor element in these themes. Peacock feathers made an appearance in 2014, and will continue into this year making a statement with color combo choices such as copper and teal which take a nod from these fabulous feathers. Big white ostrich feathers in white will bring back vintage glamour in full force and will be used in, over the top, stunning wedding centerpieces.

4) Weddings with Greenery, Greenery and More Greenery

Wedding décor, wedding bouquets, and wedding centerpieces are going to be full of greenery in 2015. Greenery table runners with full foliage and leaves or moss filled with flowers that double as the table centerpiece will be a popular wedding table-scape choice.

5) Wedding Tables with Small Vase Collection Centerpieces

From collections of small vintage bottles to modern white geometric vases grouped together, this wedding centerpiece trend will be a hit in 2015. Bottle or vase collections with single stems will be an easy and beautiful DIY option for brides looking to simplify their wedding décor.

Top 10 Wedding Colors for 2015

1) Pastels Wedding Color

Get ready for a year filled with pretty pastel weddings in 2015! Soft pastels add a romantic touch to bouquets and arrangements in weddings, and will be chosen often – not only for wedding flowers, but also for bridesmaid dresses and wedding accent colors. Soft yellows, baby blues, pale pinks, and light lavenders will pop up in weddings from the spring and summer wedding seasons. For fall, expect pastels to be combined with darker hues such as light mauve combined with the color of the year, Marsala.

2) Purple Wedding Color

Purple, the color of royalty, will still reign as a popular color choice for weddings in 2015. This rich color will likely be combined with pastel hues. We will also see lavender and lilac shades in floral choices and wedding décor. Purple combined with gold will be another hit, as gold will be a favorite in 2015, as well. Other popular purple combos chosen by brides will be purple and turquoise, purple and pink, and purple and orange.

3) Marsala Wedding Color

The color of the year is a fabulous, deep red wine hue, that brides will choose to make their wedding feel sophisticated.    Marsala combines nicely with mauve and light pink tones, as well as gold. Gold and marsala complement each other, creating a rich wedding color palette that, and when combined with grey or neutral off whites, really makes marsala pop.

4) White Wedding Color

Couples in 2015 will be bringing back the white wedding! White weddings lend themselves to a glam lux look, which will also be popular this year. White paired with soft pastels makes for a romantic and luxurious color choice. Orchids, dahlias, and peonies in white shades are the perfect complement to this color scheme. Diamond fillers, reflection runners, and hanging crystals are also great parings for white weddings.

5) Blues Wedding Color

2015 will reveal a fair share of brides choosing blue as their wedding color. From navy blue weddings to baby blue, brides will choose this color as a bold statement on their wedding day. Blues combine well with peaches, creams, and teals, and are a perfect choice for nautical and beach wedding themes.

6) Teal Wedding Color

Teal is still a strong choice for couples planning their wedding colors in 2015. Teal can be boldly mixed with other popular colors for a strong and bright color palette. Think teal paired with hot pink, teal accented with shades of yellow, or teal contrasted with coral for a beach themed look. Teal and copper is also a fresh and distinctive choice in 2015 that will add a flair of glamour to any event.

7) Coral Wedding Color

Coral is such a vibrant fun color it has to be on the list for brides color choices in 2015. Coral combined with teal creates a fresh beach look and combined with turquoise can create a desert wedding color palette. Coral with yellow creates a beautiful fresh spring look and lends itself to creative flower and bridesmaids dress choices.

8) Gold Wedding Color

With gold bring on the lux in 2015. The choice for gold in weddings in 2015 will range classic gold to shades of rose gold. Brides in the new year will choose gold in décor and accent colors in wedding fashion. Mercury glass in rose gold will fit the bill for a rich wedding table and gold in jewelry shoes will give brides the hint of glamour they are looking for.

9) New Metallics Copper and Bronze Wedding Color

Copper is a newer metallic on the wedding color scene, but it will make a strong appearance in wedding décor and fashion in 2015. A copper wedding mixed with teal is a glamorous and offbeat choice for brides. Copper works well for vintage and modern industrial wedding themes. Copper and Bronze are the décor metals to watch in 2015. Bronze will be paired with creams and peaches for a rustic look, or combined with gold for a rich wedding palette. Mixing green with bronze is a bold color choice for couples wanting to make a statement on their wedding day.

10) Grey

Grey will provide a sophisticated backdrop for weddings in 2015. Wedding couples will choose grey mixed with yellow – think yellow peonies and billy buttons with grey lambs ear and dusty miller greenery. Mint and grey wedding color palettes will also be a popular choice. The color of the year, marsala, will also be paired with grey to create a modern feel in weddings with a strong and bold twist.

How Online Dating Services Make It Easy To Date and Hookup?

How Online Dating Services Make It Easy To Date and Hookup?

Online dating services have been around for almost as long as the internet has. Just as people find ingenious ways to use new tools, the internet became synonymous with shrinking perceived distance between people and enabling easier global communication. Unsurprisingly, this quickly led to online dating services and people making romantic connections online. However, as these services were introduced, some people used the anonymity offered by the internet to exploit the possibilities of online dating. One possibility that seemed to benefit internet users was the casual hookup. Date hookups often imply encounters that don’t have serious commitments attached to them. What is it that makes online dating suitable for casual date hookups? What element of this medium allows people to connect for serious, marriage-destined relationships as well as casual, sex only encounters?
The first, and most obvious reason, is the aforementioned anonymity offered by the internet. Without having to meet people in person, those interested in finding date hookups only can reduce their search to internet sites. Many people are also relatively veiled about their casual sexual encounters, and are able to feel more anonymous in places where they are less likely to be seen by friends and family.
The ease of meeting people for specific purposes also makes finding partners for hookups and dates relatively easy. Certain services are created to facilitate these types of meetings in particular, which brings people looking for the same types of relationship into one area, rather than having to find and meet similar people in ‘real’, offline life. Likewise, the format of many online dating services, that outline the relationship desires of each person, makes it just as easy to find people looking for long term relationships and marriage. Ultimately, the industry of online dating, and all the services included within it, creates a melting pot of people looking for many different types of relationships. But, by allowing people to find those interested in the same things, the internet can be used as the perfect tool to narrow down the search and make the search for an ideal partner, whether for marriage of a hookup, all the more quick and easy.

Anniversary Ideas For Everyone

Anniversary Ideas For Everyone

Are you about to celebrate a special anniversary with the one you love? Whether you have been together one year or fifty years it is important to celebrate the day in a special and memorable way. Sometimes, as much as you want to bless the one you love in a unique way, it is hard to come up with great anniversary ideas. One of the best ways to think of ideas can be to take a look back through the years of your relationship.

You will be surprised by how many perfect annivesary ideas you come up with simply by remembering special parts about the earliest parts of your time together. For instance, can you remember back to the first date the two of you shared? If so, try to recreate the date over again as a way of celebrating how far you’ve come. If you are still in the same city this kind of anniversary idea will be much easier to pull off.

Do you remember the first song the two of you danced to or the first film you saw together? Great anniversary ideas are sometimes as simple as renting that first film again or tracking down that old love song and dancing to it again. You will bless and probably surprise your special someone by your planning and the creativity you put into making great anniversary ideas happen.

Brainstorming other anniversary ideas can be easy when you simply think about the things that you and the one you love enjoy doing together. Consider planning a getaway weekend to an area that you have both wanted to visit. Or take your special someone on the cruise they have always wanted to go on. Be extravagant and do everything you can afford to make sure your anniversary is special. Do you love to hike and spend time in the mountains? Perhaps the best anniversary ideas for you would include a camping trip or renting out a cabin in the mountains that you love. Look for ways to incorporate things you already love to do together.

Celebrating anniversaries can be one of the best ways to keep the spark alive in your relationship. When you remember where you have been and all of the hard times that you have gotten through together it will be easy to celebrate a variety of anniversary ideas that come to your head. And perhaps the most important thing to remember as you try to gather and narrow down anniversary ideas is that in the end all that will matter is that you and the one you love get to spend quality
time together.

Saucy Stache is a New Food Truck Premiering in Miami This Week

Miami, FL (PRWEB) October 30, 2013

Young culinary school graduate Nichole Mantelle was disheartened with the food industry. Each job she landed in a kitchen had been the same thing, pre-packed entrees being reheated and served. Inspired by the growing street food movement in South Florida, she and her sister Michelle sought to create a menu that would speak to all ages and tastes.

Saucy ‘Stache (the ‘stache is short for mustache) was soon born, a food truck who’s menu is styled like a choose-your-own-adventure novel. Pick your entrée (steak, chicken, shrimp, or tofu for vegetarians), pick your side (salad, rice, mashed sweet potato, or garlic roasted potatoes), and then choose the sauce that will flavor the entire dish. The sauces range in flavors – from traditional Ranch and Honey Mustard, to exotic flavors like Guava Banana Barbeque and Maple Bacon Butter.

The food truck is a colorful, 18-foot artisanal kitchen on wheels. The Saucy sisters are already planning unique “dippers” to compliment their sauces, like slow cooked chicken wings and stuffed pickle poppers. They have joined alongside Miami’s finest in food truck event organization – Burger Beast, Food Truck Invasion, and Food Truck Collective – to serve their brand of street fare to Miami, Broward, Davie, and Homestead alike.

Some upcoming appearances for the Saucy ‘Stache food truck are:

Nov 1 – Food Truck Fridays at Motortrend in Davie

Nov 2 – Food and Rock Festival at Palmetto Bay Village

Nov 6 – SHOTS bar in Midtown for Ladies Night

Nov 11 – Arts Park in Hollywood

Nov 14 – Funky Buddha Brewery

Nov 16 – Magic City Casino

Nov 23 – Auto Con Car Show in Hallandale

Nov 24 – Funky Buddha Brewery (a Movember fundraiser)

More can always be found by visiting their website or by following them on Twitter (@saucystache).

Working Together for Working Out

Working Together for Working Out

Baby boomers are tremendously health conscious. That means that they are, as a group, baby boomers are highly aware of health issues and the need for plenty of exercise and a lifestyle that includes good diet as well. But there is a big difference between being health conscious and becoming active in a healthy lifestyle. Many times we may be well aware of what we SHOULD do to be healthier so we can live a longer and healthier life but following through on those goals is much more difficult than just knowing about them.

This is why having a partner in working out and making healthy decisions can make all the difference in the world. Baby boomers have seen a lot of changes to the marriage relationship occur over the years. This is not just because of women’s liberation. It also comes from huge changes to way the work world functions as well as new parenting models and cultural shifts that have called for a real partnership in a marriage to cope with the new world we live in. That is why the marriage partner is the best possible choice for someone to encourage you along in your path to a healthier lifestyle.

This is a good reason when you do make that New Year’s resolution to start working out and exercising regularly that you don’t keep your decision under your hat. Share your goals of a healthier you with your spouse. Almost certainly you will discover that he or she also has wanted to start a regimen of exercise and a sensible diet but they also were hiding that from you. Why do we do that, even from our marriage partner?

Well part of it is that once you commit to a program of exercise and losing weight and you tell someone about it, you are stuck with going through with it. You take away your backing out factor by giving someone else the opportunity to hold you accountable to your zeal later on when maybe sitting and watching TV is more appealing than hitting the track. But another part of it might be that what a good workout looks like to your spouse may not line up with how you want to exercise. So that independent spirit makes you want to go it alone rather than allow your spouse to hold that office in your life as your work out partner and accountability team member.

These are not very good reasons not to engage your spouse as a partner in a healthier life style. Disclosing to them your intentions is actually the best thing you can do because if you “stick your neck out” and let him or her know what you want to do, you will be accountable to do that next week, next month and routinely throughout the year until you hit your goals. You will regret your decision when you feel your spouse is forcing you to go to the gym but you will celebrate your decision when you are coming home from the gym and you feel great from having a great workout.

Working as a team for a healthy lifestyle and weight loss is crucial when it comes to diet. Exercise is great and even if you don’t lose any weight, starting and continuing an exercise program is good for aging bones and muscles and improves stamina. You will be delighted when you actually can squat down to pick up something off the floor and stand up again without help after a few weeks of exercise.

But if you are going to seriously lose weight, you have to change your diet as well. And that is impossible to do unless the spouse is helping you. If both members of the marriage commit to a diet of healthy foods, eliminating deserts, chips and soft drinks and making foods from fresh ingredients, then you can keep each other on track by only allowing those foods in the house.

This is good for both of you. And as you see the scale report that you are actually losing weight for the first time in many years, you will have someone to celebrate with that the program is working. Make it a healthy celebration but a joyful one because you both deserve it.

Online Rabbinical School Celebrates a New Class of Graduates: Eighth Class of Students Ordained in Delray Beach

New York, NY (PRWEB) January 21, 2015

The Jewish Spiritual Leadership Institute (JSLI) Online Rabbinical School conducted its eighth ordination Saturday night at a ceremony in Delray Beach, FL. Eleven new rabbis will now begin their respective missions and service as teachers and spiritual leaders – some advancing the tenets of the Jewish Universalism.

“The ordination/Shabbaton weekend provides a marvelous opportunity for scholarship and discussion, meals and conviviality and concludes with the converyance of Rabbinical Ordination, Semicha, to the students,” said Rabbi Steve Blane, founder of the Sim Shalom Online Synagogue and Dean of the Rabbinical School. “The presentation of the semicha – or certificate of ordination – denotes a time for celebration of achievement, and contemplation of the future.” Sim Shalom, the Online Jewish Universalist synangogue, is the ordaining body of JSLI.

The Hebrew meaning of semicha (sometimes spelled as semikhah) is literally a “leaning of the hands” and is derived from the Hebrew word which means “to rely on” or “to be authorized.” Within the context of rabbinical ordination, its connotation is that of a “transmission” of rabbinical authority – enabling the holder to give advice or interpretation of Jewish law. The classical line of semicha traces a line of Torah conferment back to Moses and the 70 elders.

The 11 new graduates of JSLI hail from all over the United States and the United Kingdom. JSLI alumni are currently serving worldwide in congregations, as pastoral counselors, and as Jewish educators. They perform a full panoply of Life Cycle events – including weddings, funerals, and bnai mitzvoth.

Jewish Universalism encompasses the ideal of peaceful existence between adherents of different religions and religious denominations.

“And now our conveyed and ever-evolving process of education and enlightenment begins again,” noted Rabbi Blane. “We have ten new students entering the school’s next rabbinical class – embracing the opportunity for a life of personal spiritual development, and service to humanity.”

About Sim Shalom
